want to express our gratitude for the hard work and professionalism
you brought to the process of our recent house purchase. Looking
back on the hours we spent together, we admire how you came to know
and anticipate our wants and needs. In addition, your research
concerning our questions plus the market analyses prepared for
various neighborhoods helped give us as much information as
possible.
I feel
I learned so much from you. Not only are you a hard-working agent,
you share insights and anecdotes with equal ease. Also you have the
ability to be diplomatic when the situation warrants and hard-nosed
if needed. And funny . . . I can’t leave out funny.
One of
your most valuable qualities, Edwin, is simply that you make a
friend when you gain a client. We never doubted your judgment. We
never doubted that you had our best interests in mind. And when,
as fate would have it, something didn’t work out like we wanted, we
never doubted that you would doggedly continue the job of getting us
the right place to live.
Lord
knows I don’t want to move again any time soon, but when we’re ready
to downsize in about ten years I’ll come looking for you. In the
meantime, that dinner invitation will come when all my projects are
finished and I feel that, as you say, I have made the house “mine.”

Edwin
Ashurst recently represented my husband and me in our search
for a home. We thought we were asking the impossible; a house in
our price range in a part of town that we knew was usually priced
well above what we could afford. We also had very specific desires
as to how much space we wanted, and what amenities we had to have.
Edwin worked tirelessly to find us just the right place; he took the
time to get to know intimately what we were looking for and to make
the search his own. We had the luxury of taking our time to look
for a new home, and as we conducted our search, we were able to
constantly refine our criteria. The home he found for us met all of
our needs – the price, the location, and the layout were all what we

During the price negotiation,
Edwin worked diligently with the seller’s agent to secure what we
felt was a fair price for the property. We eventually wound up with
an agreed sale price that was several thousand dollars below the
appraisal value, which is the result every new homebuyer wants.
Edwin assisted us in securing the mortgage and the home inspection,
and we were extremely satisfied with the people he recommended to
us.
At closing, Edwin was
present to make sure everything went smoothly. We very much
appreciated the support during what can be a confusing, stressful
process.

When we set out to buy a house
we started by looking through online listings and newspaper ads. We
saw a lot of houses that seemed to be right but never had the nerve
or motivation to actually pursue anything. We were in a vague state
